Leaders must live by their word

ONCE my American pastor told me that the word says that out of the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak. He said therefore that the language that we produce is a reflection of our hearts.
He also told me that our hearts are the wellsprings of our lives and that inside our hearts are the deepest desires and strongest emotions.
So, if a person talks nothing about lies, then we all know that it is the content of his heart. I think this should be the reason that the UPND leadership has been linked to a huge tendency of lying, starting with its failed campaign promises.
Zambians remember that in 2021 they were lied to by UPND about the inexpensive life, a buoyant economy – literally heaven on earth – all this has come to nothing.
Times are getting harder by the day because the majority of Zambians cannot afford the high cost of essential commodities. The big question now is: can we choose to be with a regime that is only lying to us?
The answer is NO because such people have hearts full of negatives and hopelessness and do not mean well for the people.
Indeed, Patrick Rothfuss once said words are pale shadows of forgotten names. As names have power, words have power. Words can light a fire in the minds of men. It is also true that words can bring tears from the hearts.
So, I think time is now for Zambians to reflect deeply on their current UPND leadership which appears to be taking our beautiful country nowhere. Today, all what Zambians are left with are high emotional prices with sleepless nights and poor health.
To our uncaring UPND leaders, I will say that they cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.
