MTN Zambia has marked a major milestone in its journey with a grand celebration, culminating in the final prize draw of its ‘Thank U Zambia’ promotion. The event, held in Lusaka, highlighted the company’s commitment to giving back to its customers as it celebrates 20 years of service in Zambia.

Speaking at the event, MTN Zambia’s Chief Consumer Officer, Richard Acheampong, expressed his gratitude to customers, partners, and stakeholders who have supported the company over the past two decades.

“Y’ello everyone,” Acheampong began, addressing a buzzing crowd of invited guests and media. “It’s a great pleasure to welcome you all to this exciting moment – the grand prize draw of our Thank U Zambia promotion.”

Running since May 15, 2025, the promotion has seen over 217,000 winners from across all ten provinces of Zambia, receiving a variety of prizes including the latest iPhone 16 Pro Max, Alola smartphones, MTN bundles, local holiday packages, and cash prizes ranging from K100 to K20,000.

“This year, we’ve been led by an attitude of gratitude, giving thanks not just in words, but through meaningful deeds,” Acheampong said. “Saying ‘thank you’ to everyone who has been a part of our 20-year journey has been at the very heart and essence of the Thank U Zambia promotion.”

The climax of the promotion was the announcement of two grand prize winners who will each receive K500,000 and a fully paid trip for two to Dubai.

“This is about creating life-changing opportunities. These prizes are more than rewards; they represent our appreciation and the positive impact we want to continue making,” Acheampong added.

To ensure the integrity of the draw, MTN Zambia enlisted the services of KPMG as independent auditors, underscoring the importance of transparency.

“At MTN, we understand how important trust is,” said Acheampong. “That’s why we have our independent auditors from KPMG present today to confirm the authenticity and fairness of this entire draw process.”

The event not only celebrated winners but also the broader vision MTN Zambia holds for the future.

“Beyond the prizes, what truly matters to us is the impact we create – the smiles on faces, the financial boosts, and the stories of transformation from our winners,” he said. “We remain committed to empowering all Zambians through innovative products, services, and community initiatives as we move into the next 20 years together.”

The Thank U Zambia promotion has been lauded as one of the most inclusive and far-reaching customer engagement initiatives in the country, with winners hailing from rural and urban areas alike.
