THOSE foreigners who are running sex dens and encouraging minors to be engaged in illicit activities will be investigated and if found guilty risk being deported, Immigration Director General Moola Milomo has warned.
Mr Milomo told the Daily Nation that the Zambian law was very clear on brothels and other activities likely to encourage immorality in the country.
He said the Immigration Department would soon constitute investigations into the matter.
“These are very serious allegations and as a department working with our colleagues the Lusaka City Council, the police and other institutions which may help with investigations, will ensure that this matter is thoroughly investigated and those who are found wanting will have to face the law,” Mr. Milomo said.
On Saturday night, Zambia police and Lusaka City Council raided bars owned by some foreigners which were used as sex dens and patronised by juveniles.
Mr Milomo said foreigners should not use their stay in Zambia to engage in illegal businesses as that was not adding value to the host country.
Mr Milomo said Zambia was a Christian nation which had great respect for morality and could not entertain people wanting to break the moral fibre of society.
He said the Immigration Department would not tolerate foreigners who were investing in illegal activities just to make money. “Indeed this is a very sad development to us as a department, because we expect that these are people who should exhibit great respect for the law as they are doing business in a foreign country, so we are quite disappointed,” Mr Milomo said.
