NEW Congress Party (NCP) leader Peter Chanda leader has said that the firing of former Minister of National planning Lucky Mulusa was long overdue and it will restore harmony in government.

And pastor Chanda has advised expelled PF member Chishimba Kambwili to stop imitating former president Michael Sata because he cannot fit in his shoes.

Pastor Chanda in an exclusive interview said Mr Mulusa deserved to be fired because he lacked ministerial qualities.

He said Mr Mulusa made a blunder as a minister by washing dirty linen in public by criticising government over procurement of fire tenders.

He said Mr Mulusa was just too out of line as a minister to criticise his fellow minister adding that he was supposed to raise that issue in cabinet meeting and other established channels and not through the press or at a drinking party.

“Firing him was long overdue because of his irresponsible remarks over the fire tenders. He was not responsible and did not believe in collective responsibility,” he said.

He added, though the President didn’t disclose why he fired him, we think he deserved it as he lacked political maturity.”

He charged that apart from the fire trucks issue, Mr Mulusa on a recent interview on ZNBC condemned the blunder in the release of water at Kariba Dam, which resulted in dwindling of water levels and terrible loss of constant power supply country wide.

Meanwhile, the NCP president also took a swipe at Mr Kambwili  and told him to stop being a copycat.

He accused outspoken Roam Member of Parliament of trying to imitate former president Michael Sata’s political techniques but said he could not fit in his shoes.

“Kambwili should stop masquerading as young cobra because he can not fit in late Sata’s shoes as he is not factual but just an alarmist,” Pastor Chanda said.
