RESIDENT Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) president Dr. Brian Sampa should be arrested and charged with murder for inciting other doctors to effect a go-slow because we lost people who died from preventable illnesses as a result of negligence, the Evangelical Youth Alliance (EYA) has said.
And EYA has called for the medical professional body responsible to immediately revoke the licence of Dr. Sampa for going against his sworn allegiance as a doctor to prevent loss of life.
EYA president, Reverend Moses Lungu said in an interview that it was sad that Dr. Sampa as RDAZ president was bent on inciting doctors to down tools and watch patients dying in hospitals without remorse.
Rev. Lungu said the action by the RDAZ was not only illegal but a clear inducement of negligent attitude towards a person struggling with a life.
“There is dire desperation in hospitals, people are dying of presentable diseases, where is morality, there is need to return morality to the profession,” he said.
And Rev. Lungu expressed dismay at some media houses that have given Dr. Sampa a platform to arrogantly defend himself on things which he himself knows are wrong.
He said “you don’t celebrate such characters who would see people die even when they are in a position to help simply because of money”.
Rev. Lungu said Dr. Sampa and all those involved in the illegality should realise that there are so many people in the country who have not been paid their dues and so many unemployed doctors who would want to take up their positions.
