ZAMBIA’S envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup Red Arrows have complained of poor treatment in Tanzania where they were humbled 3-0 by Tanzanian champions Simba SC during the first leg of the pre group stage fixture played on Sunday at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salam.

And Zanaco FC coach Kelvin Kaindu has cautioned his charges against being complaicent after beating Malian outfit Binga FC 3-0 at Heroes Stadium on Sunday.

Red Arrows are on the verge of being eliminated from the continental competition after the humiliation in Tanzania where they witnessed hostility from the hosts, according to the club media officer Miko Kalembwe.

“In as much as we have lost, I wish to share that the hostility we have witnessed today makes sad reading. Shortly after kick off, my cameraman was roughed up and sent out of the stadium for allegedly taking videos when the game was on TV.

“I came down from the media gallery to bargain but that was not to be, despite wearing an accreditation card ‘all access’ we were denied entry including returning to the media gallery or where our delegation was seated,” Kalembwe said.

Kalembwe hailed the match commissioner for his professionalism and contained the situation from getting worse.

Arrows went down as early as the 17th minute with Bernard Morrison opening the score line with a sublime free kick from outside the 18-yard box.

The lead was doubled in the 19th minute with Meddie Kagere scoring their second before Morrison scored the third in the second half.

Meanwhile, Kaindu has urged Zanaco players to maintain the same focus after beating Binga FC 3-0 thanks to a brace from striker Moses Phiri and a lone goal from winger Abraham Siankombo.

Kaindu said a 3-0 win is a plus for the bankers who will need to win or draw in the return leg fixture to reach the group stage.

He urged his players to avoid getting too excited because it is possible for the Malians to frustrate the bankers in the return fixture.
