THE Socialist Party has predicted that the price of mealie meal will go up between June and July this year.
Its media director, Mr Brian Hapunda said the looming crop failure was a clear indication that if the situation does not change, the country could produce less maize in the 2023/2024 harvest season.
He explained that the country may resort to importing the commodity because it would not have enough to carter for the entire population.
Mr Hapunda said the four provinces that had received good rainfall would not produce adequate maize that can carter for the other six provinces, therefore, Zambians needed to be prepared on what was ahead of them. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
