Zambian forward Ghampani Lungu is making a strong statement in his debut season with South African giants Orlando Pirates after helping the Buccaneers book their place in the MTN 8 final.
Lungu was on target as Orlando Pirates stormed to a convincing 3-0 victory over Sekhukhune United in the second leg of their semifinal, completing a dominant performance to seal their place in the final.
The Zambia international capped a brilliant counter-attacking move with a composed finish, beating fellow Zambian goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata to add another highlight to his impressive start in South Africa.
The goal further underlined Lungu’s growing influence at Pirates, with the striker quickly becoming a key attacking threat since arriving at the Soweto giants.
After just six games, the Zambian has already registered three goals and one assist, an impressive return that has generated excitement around his early impact.
Lungu’s pace, movement and finishing ability have provided Pirates with another dangerous option in attack, while his confidence in front of goal appears to be growing with every appearance.
