AN action plan against the spread of Covid-19 in Kitwe has received another shot in the arm from Canbert Enterprises which donated assorted items worth K100, 000.
The action plan was put in place by the office of the Kitwe District Commissioner and the business sector to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Canbert Enterprises Limited decided to be part of the Action plan and donating 2,000 face masks, 2,000 bottles of hand sanitizers and 1, 000 sanitary gloves.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Thandizani Zulu, said it was imperative that Government and other stakeholders joined efforts in preventing the spread of the Covid 19 in Kitwe.
Ms Zulu said her company was grateful that President Edgar Lungu had continued to provide leadership through putting in place measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
“I stand here to represent Canbert Enterprises Limited to present this noble donation towards the prevention of COVID pandemic. As a company, we are grateful to President Lungu for the efforts he is making to sensitize the people of Zambia and for the preventive measures his government has put in place
“So as a company, we would like to contribute 2000 face masks, 2000 bottles of 100 mills, hand sanitizers, and 1000 sanitary gloves. These items are all in total of K100,000,” Ms Zulu said.
And the DC said he was grateful to Canbert Enterprises Limited and the business community for the generous gesture towards the prevention of COVID-19.
Mr Bweupe said from the time the action plan was put in place, a number of companies had been coming forward to support the fight against COVID-19. “This is a good gesture and I must say on behalf of the government, I am so grateful. I must say we have received good will in the fight against the COVID 19. This spirit should continue,” Mr Bweupe said
