HAKAINDE Hichilema cannot be trusted with the republican presidency because he is fond of always giving out false information to mislead the nation that the current Government is not working, PF national media director Antonio Mwanza has said.
Speaking on a live 5FM radio programme, yesterday, Mr Mwanza said amid effects of coronavirus, the country under the leadership of President Lungu had continued doing well because of the various measures put in place by Government.
He said Mr Hichilema and his party had continued lying to Zambians that the PF Government was misappropriating the money that is being donated towards the Covid-19 fight.
Mr Mwanza said all the donated funds were being deposited into the central government account and used for the intended purpose.
“Once deposited the funds are transferred to the Bank of Zambia, where it’s apportioned to the fight against Covid-19 and therefore it’s hypocritical for Mr Hichilema and his UPND to pass assertions that the donated monies are being misused,” he said.
He said the country was under stress from the effects of Covid-19 and that’s why the people of Zambia were asking the President to ease the measures. On party discipline, Mr Mwanza said all members of the party were required to behave in an exemplary manner and that each member had well stipulated duties that they were supposed to perform.
He said following some various cases of indiscipline, the ruling party had meted out punishment on some members including Copperbelt vice Chairman Christopher Kang’ombe who charged but refused to exculpate himself leading to his removal.
Mr Mwanza said the party had also replaced Lusaka vice chairlady Charity Katongo Banda with former Lusaka deputy major Chilando Chitangala on an interim basis.
