Nkana fans won’t budge

By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA
NKANA fans will not rest until top officials Everisto Kabila and Charles Chakatazya are removed, alleging that their continued stay will put the Kitwe giants in a depressing financial position.
And the fans have warned former club chairman Elijah “Shenko” Chileshe not to bring his confusion from the Football Association of Zambia to Nkana where he does not contribute a Ngwee.
The Kitwe District Nkana Supporters Chapter which is a branch of the Nkana National Supporters Club said they will not allow club president Kabila to resign next month after the sponsorship package has already been depleted.
Sponsors Mopani Copper Mines are tipped to have already committed the $420, 000 grant to the club to run its day-to- day affairs.
The fans threatened not to renew membership or contribute anything to the club until the duo are removed.
“We will not wait for June for Kabila to resign because we know that the 2020 ‘honey pot’ from Mopani would have been depleted by then, thereby leaving the club with a zero account. The Kitwe District Supporters is willing to help the club raise money but cannot do so if the people who are mismanaging the funds are still at the club,”
“We urge Shenko to take his fights to FAZ and let the supporters who suffer for the team handle its affairs without being distracted by people like him who enter the stadium for free and contributes nothing to the club,” read part of the statement signed by the district chairperson Moses Yumba and his secretary Chris Chisha.
