By AARON CHIYANZO in Lukashya, Kasama
INDIVIDUALS who were entrusted with the privatisation of state properties will be sorted out if indeed they stole money because “umulandu taubola,” President Edgar Lungu has maintained.

Earlier, Patriot Front (PF) Secretary-General, Davies Mwila demanded that calls for people who were involved in dubious privatisation of Intercontinental Hotel in Livingstone to be prosecuted must be heard.
The Head of State assured that any wrong doing in the privatisation process would result in prosecution despite the number years that had passed.
President Lungu said this during a rally in Chisanga township of Lukashya constituency to drum up support for the PF candidate in today’s Lukashya parliamentary by-election, Mr George Chisanga.
President Lungu said claims that the privatisation matter had resurfaced because he wanted a way of eliminating UPND president, Hakainde Hichilema out of the 2021 Presidential polls, would not block the law from taking its course.
“Umulandu taubola, if people stole during the privatisation process they will be sorted out,” he said.
Mr Lungu said the law would take its course on any wrong doing despite the claims of wanting to secure victory.
The President said he was not scared of facing any political party leader in the 2021 general elections.
Mr Lungu said if he managed to defeat Mr Hichilema in elections where he was not very popular, this time he would win with a big margin.
“Apa pena nalakanda (this time I will hit harder),” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Mwila said there should not be any sacred cows in the fight against corruption because President Lungu was serious about stopping the scourge.
He said Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya and his Tourism and Arts counterpart, Ronald Chitotela, were prosecuted for corruption and acquitted.
Mr Mwila said the calls for the prosecution of individuals who were involved in the fraudulent sale of state properties should be acted upon.
He said Mr Hichilema must explain how Intercontinental Hotel was sold cheaply and how he acquired so much wealth within a short time.
