TASILA LUNGU WEDS

By SIMON MUNTEMBA
BACHELORS across Zambia and the continent at large had their hopes dashed yesterday as Social Media splashed photographic evidence of the prize bride, Tasila Lungu, being officially taken off the market, as she tied the knot with Patrick Mwansa.

President Edgar Lungu’s daughter Tasila who is Nkoloma Ward Councilor married her fellow Councilor, Patrick Mwansa in a colourful wedding ceremony at St. Ignatius Parish in Lusaka yesterday.
In what could be described as a Presidential fatherly role, President Lungu was in the lime light as he walked his daughter Tasila down the aisle giving her hand in marriage to Mr Mwansa.
President Lungu said he woke up with mixed emotions as he was filled with joy because his daughter whom he regarded as a little girl, honoured him.

The Head of State through his Facebook posting said giving out a daughter away was not an easy thing for any father.
“I woke up with mixed emotions. In my eyes she’s still a little girl, my little girl. Tasila has honoured us, and I was filled with joy as I proudly walked her down the aisle, giving her hand in marriage to Mr. Patrick Mwansa,” the President said.
To both of you, he said, look to God and your marriage will be a success.
President Lungu who quoted the bible book of Ephesians 4:2 said, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
He added, “And in 1 Peter 4:8, the bible says ‘Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.’”
And UPND president Hakainde Hichilema who is a sharp critic of the Head of State put politics aside and congratulated Tasila and her husband.
“Mutinta and I wish to extend our profound congratulations to the newest couple in town, Mr and Mrs Patrick, and Tasila Lungu Mwansa respectively, who today were joined in the holy matrimony of marriage. May God bless you as you open a new chapter in your young lives,” Mr Hichilema said through his Facebook posting.
Mr Hichilema who quoted Matthew 19:6, “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
