Mpezeni pledges East’s 2021 vote to PF

By SIMON MUNTEMBA in Chipata
PARAMOUNT Chief Mpezeni has said the people in the East are determined to give the PF another five-year mandate in 2021 because it had performed well.

The Paramount chief said this yesterday when President Edgar Lungu paid a courtesy call on the Ngoni Paramount Chief at his Ephendukeni Palace in Chipata.
The traditional leader, who spoke highly of President Lungu’s administration, said the massive infrastructure development implemented in the region and Zambia at large would speak for the PF in 2021.
He said “seeing was believing,” thus, PF needed more years in power to fulfil its agenda.
He said unlike the opposition political party leaders who were just making promises, PF was delivering.
Paramount Chief Mpezeni said President Lungu was eligible to stand in the 2021 Presidential elections because he had served only one full term.
And President Edgar Lungu has called on traditional leaders to encourage their subjects to register in large numbers in the ongoing voter registration exercise,
President Lungu said those who were not registering should not complain when candidates they did not want were voted in office.
He said it was important for people to register as voters as doing so would give them an opportunity to elect their preferred leaders.
“So, my appeal to you your royal highness is that encourage the people to register in large numbers,” President Lungu said.
