By MICHAEL MIYOBA

ZAMBIA National Soccer Team coach Miluttin “Micho” Sredojevic has expressed disappointment after the Chipolopolo avoided defeat in their second game at the ongoing Championship of African Nations (CHAN) following a 1-1 draw with Guinea in a Group D fixture played on Saturday night at Limbe Stadium in Cameroon.

Midfielder Spenser Sautu came from the bench to score Zambia’s equaliser in the dying minutes of the match in Limbe.

Speaking in a post match interview, Micho said it was unfortunate that the Chipolopolo boys failed to win as they had planned to beat Guinea.

The Serbian however noted that the game against Guinea presented the Chipolopolo some lessons going into the last Ground D game against Namibia.

“It was a clash of the titans and small details decided the results.

“A draw is a realistic result having in mind the display of our opponents as they have skillful players. We wanted to win the match but we had a very good team against us,” Micho said.

“We have learned a lesson  the hard way and I believe we are mentally  stronger going into the next fixture against Namibia,” added the Serbian.

And speaking after rescuing Zambia from suffering defeat to Guinea, Spencer Sauti said the draw derailed the Chipolopolo from qualifying to the knock out stage of the completion in Cameroon.

The Power Dynamos midfielder however noted that the Chipolopolo players will stay focused to triumph in the next game against Namibia to make it to the knock out stage.

Meanwhile Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZASPOFA) patron Peter Makembo has hailed the Chipolopolo for fighting hard to avoid defeat in their Ground D fixture against Guinea.

Makembo said there is need for the Chipolopolo to maintain the same determination to beat Namibia in the next game.

The Chipolopolo are second in Group D with four points, on par with Group D leaders Guinea who have a better goal difference compared to Zambia.

The Chipolopolo boys will face Namibia in their final group fixture on January 27th at Limbe Stadium.
