GEOFFREY Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has lashed out at false propaganda suggesting that he insulted the Presidency including the PF leadership.
“This is malicious propaganda that the opposition wants to use to divide the united and strong party,” he said.
He warned the PF to watch out for professional propagandists employed by the opposition who would plant divisive material in the media to cause confusion and division.
Mr Mwamba who is PF deputy national mobilisation chairperson said an aggressive propaganda scheme by the known enemies of the Patriotic Front (PF) aimed at stirring up divisions in the party has been launched and attributed allegations that he insulted party secretary general and the president to him.
Mr Mwamba said “a known political party headed by a perpetual loser has resorted to silly propaganda out of desperation because they have realised that they are losing the August 12 general elections.”
He said in an interview that desperation, lack of visionary leadership, and bitterness has engulfed the opposition political party because they have realised that they will never make it in August.
Mr Mwamba was reacting to social media reports that he had turned on PF Secretary-General, Davis Mwila by warning him to stop mentioning his name anyhow as he was not cheap.
A report containing abusive and insulting words against Mr Mwila attributed to Mr Mwamba was widely shared on social media platforms yesterday.
But when contacted both the SG’s office and Mr Mwamba expressed ignorance of the purported altercation.
Mr Mwamba said, “That is just propaganda by the enemies of PF. They know that they are losing again in August and they have resorted to this silly propaganda out of desperation of course to cause divisions. They are really scared of PF.”
He also said the desperation exhibited by the known opposition party was testimony that they were scared that since they had failed to form government in the past, it would be their end because their members were becoming impatient with their continued failures which had characterised the party since its formation in 1998.
And PF media director Sunday Chanda said it was not true that Mr Mwamba and Mr Mwila had an altercation.
Mr Chanda said being an election year, the sowers of discord have teamed up and targeted the ruling party in its inflammatory scheme poised to cast all sorts of aspersions, malice and propaganda.
“It’s definitely fake news. I would have heard about it. Its fake news,” Mr Chanda said.
He said the primary objective of the people behind such propaganda was to cause confusion among PF members.
Mr Chanda however said that the party was aware of every step they plan and they would not succeed.
