I WILL not rest until Hakainde Hichilema is made to account for the fraudulent activities against innocent citizens, FDD president Edith Nawakwi has declared.

Ms Nawakwi said she was not fighting the UPND president but she just wanted justice to prevail on allegations raised against him.

She said in an interview that many people had suffered at the hands of Mr Hichilema, a matter which could not be left unchecked.

She noted that former BP employers suffered because Mr Hichilema’s firm had misused their retirement packages.

Ms Nawakwi said Mr Hichilema had also been involved in grabbing land previously owned by deceased people which was unacceptable.

She said someone who was involved in such acts could not be let scotfree when others had been left suffering.

“Mr Hichilema has done bad things to many Zambians. See how former BP employees have been suffering because his firm had not given them their benefits. A number of them are still languishing in poverty.

“Now that the courts of law has directed his firm to pay them, we need to see to it that people are paid their benefits. The other issue is about the people whose property has been taken away from them illegally. This is very sad. How can we allow someone to be doing such things?” Ms Nawakwi wondered.

She also warned Choma Central Member of Parliament Cornelius Mweetwa to stop defending Mr Hichilema because he does not know what transpired.

Ms Nawakwi said Mr Mweetwa was aware that the person he was defending did not like him.

“Mr Mweetwa should know that during this elections he will not adopted. Hichilema has settled for someone else. So why defending someone who does not like him,” he said.

Recently, Mr Mweetwa said that Ms Nawakwi was bitter because she was not chosen United Democratic Alliance (UDA) president in the 2006 elections.

He said the position went to Mr Hichilema, hence the bitterness in Ms Nawakwi.
