20 firms back Luapula Expo

A TOTAL of 20 companies have confirmed to be sponsors of the Luapula Expo and Investment Conference slated for next month.

The event which is scheduled to take place from 26 to 31 July, would be graced by President Edgar Lungu.

And Luapula Province minister Nickson Chilangwa has acknowledged the receipt of cheques worth K655,000 from the sponsors towards the hosting of the event.

The sponsors include GED Zambia, SEEDCO, ASHTROM, ZAMTEL, Professional Insurance, Zambian Breweries, Indo Zambia Bank, Trade Kings and MMRP Mining of Kenya.

Other Companies are Nava Bharat, Mansa Sugar, Sunbird Biofuel Africa and Kamil Petroleum, among others.

“Yesterday (Friday) GED Zambia presented to Luapula Members of Parliament (MPs) a cheque of K200, 000 with SEEDCO giving another cheque of K250, 000. The presentation of the cheques took place at the Zambia Development Agency offices [in Lusaka].”

The MPs, who attended the presentation ceremony included Milenge PF MP Mwansa Mbulakulima, Nchelenge PF MP Anthony Malama, Bangweulu PF MP Anthony Kasandwe and Chifunabuli PF MP Ponde Mecha.

Mr Chilangwa also expressed gratitude at the amount of goodwill exhibited by the companies that had so far pledged to support the exposition.

He said the list was expected to grow bigger with other companies and individuals pledging to get on board.

Mr. Chilangwa said in the next few days, he would lead a team of MPs from Luapula to receive support packages from more companies.

Luapula Expo and Investment Conference is a flagship investment programme of Luapula provincial administration.
