Airtel wins two corporate awards

AIRTEL Networks Zambia Plc, has scooped two Corporate Social Responsibility awards given at the third Public Service Excellence Annual Awards.

Airtel was awarded for the ‘Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Education Project’ and the ‘Best CSR partnership in the community’.

Airtel enterprise business manager Gilbert Lungu said Airtel was committed to changing the lives of the less privileged people in the communities through the different Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

“We are honoured to be recognised once again for all that we do in the community. We have made CSR an integral part of our business and we will continue working with other partners and the Government in ensuring we change people’s lives and help contribute to making Zambia a better place,” he said.

The awards held at Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka conferred Airtel with two Corporate Social Responsibility awards for its contribution to the advancement of public service excellence in Zambia.

And Zambia Society for Public Service Administration president Kelvin Esiasa congratulated Airtel for championing the CSR agenda and its commitment to improving the well-being of the people in local communities.

The awards were aimed at recognising individuals and organisations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership by taking bold steps to improve Zambia through advancements in public policy, research, leadership and management.

However, the Zambian Society for Public Administration Public Service Excellence Annual Awards (ZSPA – PSEA) are the most prestigious national recognition of excellence in public service and society at large. The PSEA also seek to recognise the institutional and individual contributions made by the Public Service, Civil society, scholars and the society at large, to enhance the social welfare of every Zambian.
