EMBATTLED Roan Member of Parliament, Chishimba Kambwili has been challenged to prove his K20, 000 allegation or face the law by Chilufya Tayali.
The Roan parliamentarian has of late been making unsubstantiated corruption allegations on innocent individuals to build his political base.
Mr Kambwili, who was last week on Friday reported to police by Chilufya Tayali for alleged fraudulent registration of a company using ghost names to obtain government contracts, had accused Tayali of corruptly receiving K20, 000 to scandalize him.
He charged that Mr Tayali who is Economic and Equity Party (EEP) leader received K 20,000 from state house Political advisor Kaizer Zulu, to raise accusations against him on allegedly economic fraud.
But Mr Tayali has threatened to sue Mr Kambwili if he does not apologise for telling lies that State House political advisor gave him money which was not true.
Mr Tayali has challenged Mr Kambwili to prove his K20, 000 allegation, apologise or risk being sued for his falsehood.
He said Mr Kambwili should realise that political rantings and threats of an empty anti-corruption crusade would not save him from facing the law this time around.
“We have listened with keen interest allegations by Dr Chishimba Kambwili that we have received K 20,000 from State House Political advisor Kaizer Zulu to raise accusations against him on alleged economic fraud which we have since reported to the police.
“We therefore give Dr Kambwili until the end of today (Sunday) to provide the nation with evidence of our transaction with Mr. Kaizer Zulu or apologise in writing or we shall be left with no choice but to institute legal proceedings against him,” Mr Tayali warned.
He said it was interesting to note that Dr Kambwili had instead of defending himself against the allegations, he had opted to use his usual method of lying to the public with a straight face and accusing EPP of having been bribed.
Mr Tayali insisted he had enough evidence to back the allegations against Dr Kambwili.
