…As junior Chipolopolo take on Swaziland to avoid bottom place

ZAMBIA will this afternoon seek to redeem themselves from a poor run at the ongoing Mopani 2017 COSAFA under-20 championship when they host Swaziland in dead rubber group A fixture to be played at Arthur Davies stadium in Kitwe.

The junior Chipolopolo have struggled at the tournament being held on home soil with their best performance being a goalless draw against Malawi played last Friday evening at Arthur Davies.

The 2016 COSAFA champions were beaten 2-0 by east African guest team Uganda in their first group A fixture.

Numba Mumamba’s boys who were among the favourites to win this year’s tournament will target maximum points when they host Swaziland to give the home fans something to cheer about.

Coach Numba is hopeful of a win against Swaziland.

Speaking during a press conference yesterday, Numba reaffirmed his team’s desire to beat Swaziland in today’s game.

He noted that it was unfortunate that his boys failed to win their first two fixtures as they are always putting in their best to win matches at the youth tournament. “I’m proud of the way the boys have performed at this tournament. It is unfortunate that we lost the first two games but our focus is  to use this game to prepare for the 2019 under 20 AfCON and this tournament is not yet over. We face Swaziland in our next game and our target will be to win our last fixture,” he said.

Meanwhile after holding Uganda to a 2-2 stalemate in their second group a fixture, Swaziland will seek victory against the junior Chipolopolo to end the tournament on a winning note. Zambia and Swaziland are third and fourth respectively with a single point each.
