By JACKSON MAPAPAYI

“I work with the government of the day because it is in charge of bringing development not just in my chiefdom but the entire country,” senior chief Kalilele of the Lamba speaking people has said.

And the traditional leader has praised President Edgar Lungu for showing commitment to develop the province.

He said as a traditional leader he has a duty to support and work with the government of the day because the opposition has nothing to offer to his people.

He said past leaders have been failing to create Mushindamo as a district  and as a result it was difficult to access various services due to the vastness of the then Solwezi district.

‘’But upon President Lungu’s ascendance to power, he declared Mushindamo Kalumbila as district. And now development is slowly taking shape in the two districts,’’ he said.

The traditional leader was speaking when PF provincial chairperson Jackson Kungo called on him at his palace.

He said apart from that, it is only the PF government under President Lungu’s leadership that the Solwezi Chingola road has received attention.

He further cited the connection of the district including his palace to the national electricity grid.

‘’And it is for this reason that I encourage my subjects to work and support this government,’’ he added.

He urged other traditional leaders to work and support the government of the day.

And Mr Kungo thanked the traditional leader for showing commitment to support and work with the PF government.

He said as shown by the head of state, the party and its leadership in the province will endeavour to engage all stakeholders including traditional leaders in matters of development.

He said the PF government means well to the people of Zambia hence the need to support him. ‘’Because we do not want to leave anyone behind, time is now to work together and develop our province,’’ he said.
