PATRIOTIC Front (PF) members in Kabwe’s Chililalila ward have warned members playing double standards by belonging to both the ruling and the newly formed, National Democratic Congress (NDC).

This came to light when Bwacha constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Sydney Mushanga who is Central province minister chaired a meeting with PF members in Chililalila ward.

The PF members to the MP that there were a few people within the party in the ward that have been disloyal to the Party by belonging to the newly formed National Democratic Congress(NDC) party and PF at the same time.

Chitalu Sampa Branch, chairperson, Royd Chota alleged that some known PF members also belonged to NDC and have gone as far as forming wards and branches for the NDC.

“Our MP, we are facing a serious challenge of disloyalty within the party here in Chililalila ward, we have been invaded with some bad elements that belong to NDC and PF at the same time and we know them. This is a serious issue that should be addressed soon because they have even formed wards and branches for the NDC,” said Mr Chota.

Twapusuka Branch, chairperson, Christopher Kangwa said the disloyal members have been spearheading confusion in the party branches by alleging that the newly inducted ward councillor, Edward Phiri has failed to deliver.

Mr Kangwa however said it was unfair to label Councillor Phiri as a failure when he has just been in office for about three (3) months and urged PF members in the ward to give him time and see how he would use the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to develop the ward.

And Sydney Mushanga warned  PF members in Chililalila ward against pretence which he said was too much as seen from the last by-election were some PF members worked with the opposition and independent candidates.

“There is too much pretence in Chililalila ward. We are aware that some of you in this meeting when we were campaigning for the ward by-election, worked with the opposition and independent candidates, some of you personally insulted me for supporting the elected area councillor,” said Mr Mushanga.

He further urged PF members in the ward to be patient and show support to their councillor for him to deliver the needed development in the area.

“Exercise patience and give the ward councillor support whether you voted for him or not for him to deliver the development you want,” said Mr Mushanga.
