WHOEVER is misleading Chishimba Kambwili that he is presidential material must examine his brain because this man is a political reject who cannot get any vote from certain parts of the country, PF founder member Mubanga Chileshe has charged.
On Monday, Mr. Kambwili issued a tirade of attacks on some members of the party including Copperbelt Minister Bowman Lusambo, Lusaka Province youth chairperson Kennedy Kamba, and PF media director Sunday Chanda whom he called “small boys”.
He said there was too much indiscipline in the PF as small boys were allowed to insult senior members of the party like him with impunity, yet the leadership was watching without doing anything to stop the rot.
Mr Kambwili said the schemes to forego the election of the party president when the party goes for elections in 2020 would be rebuffed and that the proponents of the sole candidacy campaign were in for a rude shock as their plans would never yield any fruit.
He said no one would remove him from the PF as he was among a few people that founded the party and helped it to form Government and that it was those who were asking him to form his own party who needed to do so to prove their mantle other than peddling a mudslinging campaign of lies and deception to sustain their positions.
But speaking to the Daily Nation yesterday, Mr. Chileshe charged that Mr. Kambwili was “fishing in wrong waters” by thinking that he could lead Zambia one day and that the sooner he realised that he was a political reject and a loner, the better for him because he had outlived his usefulness.
He described Mr. Kambwili as a misguided missile out to cause more havoc if the party was going to entertain his ego and obsession for power because he was among the people who almost grounded the PF to a halt in 2015 over the fight for the presidency.
“He told the Tongas that they would never vote for Jesus even if he came and stood against Hakainde Hichilema because they are tribalists. How many votes do you think he can get from Southern Province if he stood? It should dawn on him that he is a political reject, a loner who can never win any presidential election because of his vulgar language which has hurt a lot of people.
“In 2015, the PF almost lost an election because of people like Mr. Kambwili who wanted the presidency. If it was not for people like vice president Inonge Wina who stood firm, the PF would not have won the election.
“Today, he wants to mislead everyone that he contributed to President Edgar Lungu’s victory in 2015, yet none of them funded his campaigns. If it was not for former president Rupiah Banda who endorsed Edgar Lungu, the President would not have won that election,” Mr. Chileshe said.
He urged Mr. Kambwili to stop thinking that the PF owed him anything for merely being a founder member because there were people who suffered for the party in its infancy who had never claimed glory for the sacrifices they made.
“I am a founder member of the PF and if I tell you that I am not happy with what Mr. Kambwili is doing in the party, I will be lying to you because he has created more problems and acrimony instead of building the party he claims to be greatly attached to. The party is saying it has a sole candidate for 2021 but he is opposed to that because of selfish ambitions.
