Please read Article 31 and understand it fully

Dear Editor,

The latest press conference held at State House is one of the best of its kind.

The Republican President Edgar Chagwa Lungu explained the meaning of Article 31 of the constitution of  Zambia “declaration relating to threatened emergency” meaning there is no tension in Zambia but acts of terror, which employ fear in the citizenry to achieve their hidden agendas that of wanting to share power which voters denied them at 2016 elections.

This is an illegal way of wanting to rule by force and illegally abrogating the constitution of Zambia.  Mind you this is not a banana state but a country of laws.

Munshya’s rantings most annoying

Dear Editor

Up until now, I had a lot of respect for your former columnist by the name Elias Munshya, a lawyer based in Canada.

This is because after I read his story in our pathetic Mast newspaper, I failed to understand his anger against President Lungu because as a lawyer, I thought he ought to know better.

I am also aware about his comments soon after Hakainde Hichilema was picked up by police.

But to choose to deliberately misinform the public about the invocation of Article 31 for whatever reason, I think that he is being naïve, to put it simply.

What are his true feelings about the events in France which has for the sixth time extended the state of emergency? Can he say there is no democracy in France?

Is Munshya happy that innocent citizens must suffer just because HH is incarcerated?  Just why Munshya, because you are enjoying the comfort of Toronto?

Is it not possible that some of the victims of the City Market inferno could be your relatives and what would they be thinking about you now?

To tell the truth, I found Munshya’s article in that newspaper which is a choice paper for all disgruntled elements, totally inadequate and empty because it lacked legal meat. We can all understand why he chose the Mast.

Munshya wrote that article while filled up with emotions instead of being professional and realistic.

To President Lungu, it is my prayer that he should just go ahead and enforce a full state emergency like France has done.

He should forget about the rantings from a few little dissatisfied malcontents who have continued to fill up our planet.

They include sadist Larry Mweetwa who takes joy in people’s suffering.

But let me tell him that God has counted the tears of City Market victims and He will make amends. It is just a matter of time.

Nevers Mumba should just let go MMD

Dear Editor,

I just do not know what has gone into the minds of our so-called men of God in Zambia.

You see, if this nation will go into flames, these people will have a few questions to answer before our Creator.

The likes of Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu of the Catholic Church, Bishop John Mambo, Bishop Luhana and of course our famous Nevers Mumba who I want to make my topic for discussion today, seem to share something which does not bring hope to this country.

Just when will the truth drown into Dr Mumba’s head that he is no longer MMD president and concede that Felix Mutati is now in charge?

Is it the style UPND (where I hear he was promised the post of prime mister) to refuse to accept the truth, like an election loss? Then this party has a bad and dangerous disease which will not take it anywhere.

You see ba pastor, this stubbornness is actually the sign of defeat but somehow you want to hide your shame in your meaningless but spirited war against Mr Mutati. Yours is a lost war. Leaders are sometimes born or anointed by God. If you were not made one, you cannot be one no matter how hard you may try.

But of course if you ask God to help, He will listen to you but NOT to your arrogance like that being exposed by HH. It simply does not work.

Please give us a break and kindly accept that you are no longer president of MMD.

Remember the biblical King Belshazzar’s story about the hand which wrote “mene mene tekel ufarisin” on the wall of his palace which Prophet Daniel later explained to mean that God had “numbered” the kingdom of Belshazzar and brought it to an end; that the king had been weighed and found wanting; and that his kingdom was divided and given to the Medes and Persians (Dan. v. 1-28). Does this not speak true of you Dr Mumba? Do not cling to MMD like it is your life-supporting machine.

Tazara management maladministration

Dear Editor

I am a Tazara worker working on the Zambian region and I wish to air my complaint over the manner in which management of this company is treating its workers who have been kept without salaries for May to June.

What remains a puzzle is where the money has been going for the past four years when the governments (|Tanzania and Zambia), started paying salaries on behalf the company.

I pity the workers of Tazara who have resorted to buying safety shoes on their own because top management officials are ever on subsistence allowances.
