PATROTIC FRONT (PF) cadres who are attacking Chimwemwe Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale are enemies of the ruling party hired to destabilise the party and de-campaign President Edgar Lungu.

PF Chiluba Branch Youth Chairman Jeff Phiri charged that some councillors who were loyal to former Chimwemwe MP Mwenya Musenge had hired some youths to attack Mr Mutale in the media.

He said despite being an Independent MP, Mr Mwila had been more loyal to President Lungu than those claiming to be staunch PF members.

Mr Phiri was reacting to media reports where some PF cadres from Buntungwa Ward in Chimwemwe constituency in Kitwe have accused Independent area Member of Parliament (MP) Mwila Mutale of destabilisng the ruling party in the constituency.

They claimed Mr Mwila had sidelined the constituency executive committee.

But in reacting to the accusations, Mr Phiri said the youths who were attacking the MP in the media were hired by the two named councillors.

He said the councillors were loyal to the former MP and were being used to destabilise the PF to create room for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC)

“Yes, our MP Mwila Mutale may be an independent MP, but he has been loyal to President Lungu. When he is in the constituency, he explains the government programmes to the people. He is actually more loyal to President Lungu than those claiming to be staunch or genuine PF.

“But those claiming to be real or genuine PF are the enemies of the party who are sowing seeds of confusion in the constituency. Some of the youths who are attacking the MP are hired to go to the media to attack the MP.

“They are two councillors who are working with the former MP to cause confusion in Chimwemwe want to create room for the NDC,” Mr Phiri said.

Mr Phiri said he was grateful that President Lungu had exhibited fatherly love by forgiving all the former PF members who decided to stand as Independent MPs after they were not adopted.

He said the fatherly love that the President had exhibited to the Independent MPs, had humbled them to the level where they had become so loyal to him and were defending him to the people who sowing seeds of confusion like some councillors who were working with the former MP.

“When our MP, Mwila Mutale comes to the constituency, he explains government programmes like road rehabilitation and other issues. So under C400, six roads will be rehabilitated in Chimwemwe and from 650 health posts constructed in the country, eight health posts will be constructed in Chimwemwe constituency,” He said.

And Mr Phiri has said the accusations leveled against the MP were utter rubbish and that the Kitwe district PF leadership of Christopher Kang’ombe should provide leadership or else enemies of the party will destroy PF in the constituency.

He said it was sad that the interim constituency executive committee comprising of those who were loyal to the former MP were destabilizing the party without the district party leadership taking any action.

He said the interim Chimwemwe constituency executive committee which was appointed by Mr Kang’ombe was an indiscipline executive which was working against President Lungu as evidenced by their failure to turn up at the Independence celebrations.

“Our chairman Mr Kangombe said the interim executive committee of Chimwemwe constituency did not attend the Day of Prayers because President Lungu said people should not be forced to pray, but what about the Independence celebrations which the constituency executive failed to organize.

Mr Mutale said Kang;ombe was aware of the clandestine activities in Chimwemwe constituency , but there was nothing he can do because the indiscipline interim executive was deliberately put there to destabilize the party.

“Kang’ombe cannot take disciplinary action against members of the interim constituency executive because there are his henchmen planted to destabilize the party,” He said.
