…the party is a club of jokers and can’t fool the Bemba people

By AARON CHIYANZO

THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) is just a club of jokers and will not fool the Bemba people with their tribal propensities because a normal political party should cut across all tribes, says Chief Chikwanda of Mpika.

Chief Chikwanda said that the newly formed NDC was just a club of jokers bent on destabilising the current government.

He reiterated that the Bembas would not be fooled into joining the NDC on the pretext that it was a party for Bembas.

The traditional leader was reacting to NDC plans that its entire leadership be composed of Bemba-speaking people, as already evidenced from the secretary-general, Mwenya Musenge and its spokesperson, Eric Chanda.

Chief Chikwanda observed that this was all in an effort to create an impression that NDC was for the Bemba people, but that they would not be fooled.

He reiterated that tribalism of this kind was divisive and should not be condoned by Zambians.

Chief Chikwanda said that a normal political party was supposed to be all-inclusive, adding that the opposition NDC was just a club of jokers.

Chief Chikwanda said that the Bemba people were wise enough not to fall for the divisive tricks of jokers with a questionable agenda.

“NDC is a club, I do not see it as a political party. These are the people who just want to destabilise the current government out of bitterness. But they will not fool us Bembas, we are not dull if that is what they think.

“They want to make Bembas feel like NDC is for them, we will not fall for such politicking,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Chikwanda also observed that the ruling party was busy delivering its campaign promises to the Zambian people when other parties were busy with cheap politics.

He pointed out that the PF was giving a deaf ear to critics, as advised by the chiefs so that it did not lose focus.
