ZAMBIA’s representatives in the CAF champions league, Zanaco will today seek victory when they face Gambia Armed Forces FC in the return leg fixture to progress to the next round of Africa’s most prestigious club tournament.

The Numba Mumamba led “Bankers” will seek a double after having humiliated GAF FC to a 3-0 home defeat in the first leg fixture played at Nkoloma Stadium two weeks ago.

With a 3-0 aggregate score line, Zanaco require only a draw to progress to the next round.

However, Numba said his team is determined to win away from home as they have prepared adequately for the return leg fixture against the army sponsored side from Gambia.

Speaking in an interview from Gambia, Numba said the team was ready and injury free and will not underrate GAF as the two teams clash.

“We have settled well. Coming here early has help us to acclimatise because we were unaware of the weather conditions here.

“We are not thinking of the 3-0 win we recorded back home. We are focused the game and we know that Gambia Armed Forces is not a team to underrate. They are a very good side but we are ready for them. We will fight for a positive result to be able to progress to the next round,” Numba said.

Meanwhile GAF FC coach Ebrima Jatta said his team is determined to cancel out the 3-0 loss suffered in Lusaka two weeks ago.

Jata noted that he believes his boys are capable of upsetting Zanaco who are a step into the next round after their success in the first leg fixture.

“Our biggest problem in the first leg was failing to scoring goals and obviously that’s what we tried to work on going into the return leg fixture. We lost but I think we are capable of collecting a positive result when we host the Zambians,” Jata said.

The winner between GAF FC and Zanaco will progress to the next round where they will meet Mbabane Swallow FC from Swaziland.
