UPND president Hakainde Hichilema must be brave enough to go to a police station to verify if indeed there are intentions to have him arrested, instead of hiding and putting youths to guard his house when he is not on the wanted list, Patriotic Front Lusaka Province chairman Kennedy Kamba has said.
Mr Kamba wondered what Mr Hichilema will achieve by mobilising youths to guard him, thinking they can stop the police from arresting their leader if he had a serious case to answer.
Mr Kamba said in an interview yesterday that unlike making assumptions that the PF is orchestrating a move to have him arrested, Mr Hichilema should be brave by walking to a police station to inquire whether indeed he is wanted and use this as an opportunity to prove himself innocent if there is any case.
“If he was brave enough like how the late Michael Sata was, he was going to walk to Lusaka Central Police to say I’m here, I hear you have been looking for me, unlike mobilising the youth so that he can seek refuge,” Mr Kamba said.
And Mr Kamba wondered how Mr Hichilema will mobilise the UPND if he continues to be in hiding on fears that Government wants to have him arrested or poisoned.
Meanwhile, Mr Kamba said the PF will continue to embrace those defecting from UPND who are now being called names, because the PF believes in having the numbers even when such a person is considered irrelevant by the opposition.
