KANSANSHI Mining PLC has equipped the science laboratories at Kyafukuma Secondary School in Solwezi with modern laboratory equipment.
Mr Godfrey Msiska, the Public Relations Manager at the mining firm, said the contribution of laboratory equipment and resources would enhance the teaching of science subjects more effectively.
Mr Msiska said this would transform Kyafukuma Secondary School pupils’ performance in examinations and would make a difference in the lives of the community and the country at large.
Meanwhile, Solwezi District Education Board Secretary (DEBS), Jonathan Kayuka, noted that the laboratory equipment would help learners become better citizens.
He said the learners would contribute to the development of the country.
Mr Kayuka commended the mining firm for the gesture rendered to Kyafukuma Secondary and many other schools in the district.
“It is now up us as parents to take advantage of the gesture and encourage the children to go to school and desist from early child marriages, protecting the new infrastructure from vandalism and theft,” he said.
And sub-chief Wangabanya who spoke on behalf of Chief Kapijimpanga, thanked Kansanshi Mining Plc for its continued support to Kyafukuma Secondary School and surrounding communities.
“I am very happy that management at Kansanshi has fulfilled its promise of equipping the laboratories with all the necessary apparatus and equipment needed in the modern laboratory,” he said.
