ANNIE Brown is the legitimately Patriotic Front (PF) adopted candidate for Chilanga District Council chairperson position, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila has declared.
Mr Mwila has thus dismissed the statement from Kennedy Kamba, the PF Lusaka Province chairman, purporting that Ms Brown’s adoption had been revoked and replaced by Inock Chiwatu.
Mr Mwila stressed that Ms Brown is the PF’s legitimate adopted candidate for the August 12 elections.
He explained that Mr Kamba has neither the authority to change the names nor the mandate to announce the candidates adopted by the central committee.
“Only the secretary general of the party has the mandate to pronounce central committee resolutions as the party’s spokesperson.
“I therefore dismiss the statement issued by Mr Kamba purporting that the Patriotic Front has revoked the adoption of Ms Brown and replaced her with a Mr. Inock Chiwatu, I want to reiterate that Ms Brown is the Patriotic Front’s legitimate adopted candidate,” Mr Mwila said.
On Sunday, Mr Kamba issued a statement purporting that Ms Brown’s adoption has been revoked and replaced with Mr Chiwatu.
