By ROGERS KALERO

THE Electorate must not be misled by the fake promises but must critically analyse the calibre of candidates from the opposition and the ruling party and their relationship with the community, Munalula Moola, a member of the Patriotic Front (PF) Kitwe district mobilisation committee has advised.

Mr Moola said Zambians should not be driven by emotions to make haphazard decisions because some politicians from the UPND were promising them ‘Heaven on Earth.’

He said it was important to look at the capacity of the candidates to deliver development and their relationship with their respective communities.

Mr Moola reminded Zambians that most of the opposition UPND politicians were only getting closer to the communities during the time of election and would later dump them after the polls.

He challenged opposition UPND politicians to continue assisting the people even after losing election to prove that they were really interested in serving the interests of the people.

“These UPND characters are liars. When elections get closer, they will be telling people to vote for them, but if they have the heart of the people, they would have been closer to the people in the communities in which they live, but they only get closer to people when elections are getting closer. This means they only want to use people for votes.

“Zambians must critically analyse the calibre of the candidates. How close are they to the communities? Do they only get closer to them when they want votes from them or not? ” Mr Moola questioned.

Mr Moola said it would be suicidal for Zambians to vote for a political party whose leader has no regard for his own family members forcing them to defect to the PF.

He said the ‘cruel hearted UPND’ leadership has no solution to the economic challenges facing the country today. “They boast to say Bally will fix it. This is political rhetoric because this Bally has no solution to the problems the country is facing.  What UPND is doing is to raise people’s hopes for things they cannot do. He has no ability to solve the problem we are facing because these are global challenges which every country is facing. “Some of these UPND leaders have abandoned their relatives despite bragging that they are so rich, they are millionaires, their relatives are poverty stricken and have joined the PF hoping to find hope in President Edgar Lungu led PF.  So, people should think twice before supporting certain political parties, ” he said.

Mr Moola noted that said effects Covid-19 have affected economies of various countries and so it was not true for politicians to claim to have solutions to the economic challenges facing the country in their desperation to win the hearts of the people.

“Zambia has not been left out by the effects of Covid 19 and so people should not mislead Zambians that they are so intelligent and can fix the country’s economy.  No. These are just cheap political propaganda aimed at winning the hearts of the people ahead of the August elections ” he said
