GUARD DENIES STEALING SCHOOL MATTRESSES

A Security Guard entrusted to protect the property of Sikalongo Secondary School has appeared before the Choma Magistrates Court on allegations of stealing three mattresses from the learning institution.

In this matter Sunford Hanchele 47, a security Guard is jointly charged with 32 year old Ian Litonga with one count of Breaking into a Building and Committing a Felony therein contrary to the Laws of Zambia.

Allegations are that the two jointly and whilst acting together broke into Sikalongo Secondary School with intent to commit a felony therein and stole three  mattresses among other items valued at K9, 080 the property of the named learning institution.

The alleged incident is said to have happened between May 1 and 12 in Choma district of Southern province. When the duo appeared for plea before Senior Resident Magistrate Peter Mungala they both denied any wrong doing compelling the Court to record pleas of not guilty respectively. The matter was adjourned to May 27 for commencement of trial and the two accused person’s police bonds were extended
