LEAKED PF NOMINATIONS IRK MPEZENI OVER EAST PF ASPIRANTS LEFT OUT

By GRACE CHAILE LESOETSA

I AM not happy that some preferred aspiring candidates have been left out in the parliamentary adoptions for the Patriotic Front this follows a leaked list of picked candidates, Paramount Chief Mpezeni has said. “umm yes, I’m not happy, sindine okondwa (I’m not happy)” the Mpezeni reluctantly said.

Paramount Chief Mpezeni however could not give details over his displeasure, saying “(mukani funse mailo (ask me tomorrow).”

This follows an unconfirmed list of adopted PF candidates for the Eastern Province in the parliamentary polls making rounds on social media which the party said should be ignored as official results for the province had not yet been announced.

According to the unconfirmed list, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Vincent Mwale has been dropped in Chipangali constituency and replaced with Eastern Province chairperson, Andrew Lubusha. Also allegedly dropped is Minister of Local Government, Charles Banda for Kapoche and former Minister, Peter Daka for Msanzala Constituency.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, Dora Siliya has been adopted for Petauke Constituency beating former youth chairman, Jay Jay Emmanuel Banda.

Pelila Jere has been adopted for Lumezi Constituency beating Munir Zulu and others. University of Zambia lecturer, Professor Thomas Mtonga has been adopted in Chasefu Constituency beating incumbent Gerald Zimba and aspirants such as Chanoda Ngwira.

And the people of Kaumbwe are up in arms over the leaked list showing that their favourite had not been picked in the Patriotic Front adoptions for Eastern Province. Some of the people gathered soon after the list was leaked on social media, describing it as a recipe for disaster.

The villagers want the MCCs to respect the lower structures’ decision and adopt Jimmy Lungu, a local person, as opposed to those going to the area just for election purposes.

Zumaile village representative Peter Mumba complained that the people wanted their wishes to be respected because they are on the ground.
