LUO CALLS FOR UNITY AMONG PF MEMBERS

By SIMON MUNTEMBA

THERE is need for unity and discipline among PF members to ensure a resounding victory for the ruling party, says PF Presidential running mate for August 2021 polls Professor Nkandu Luo.

And Prof. Luo has called said she did not take it for granted that out of so many females in Zambia, President Edgar Lungu nominated her as his running mate.

Speaking after conducting a familiasation tour of the PF’s district, provincial and secretariat offices yesterday, Prof. Luo called on members in Lusaka to appreciate the President by being peaceful, united and working hard in ensuring a resounding victory for the ruling party.

Prof. Luo, who described President Lungu as a trendsetter who has continued to support women, pledged to support his vision.

She said Zambians needed to give credit to President Lungu as the country never had a female Vice President or running mate for many years prior to the appointment of the first female Vice President, adding that many other countries have started emulating Zambia by appointing women Vice Presidents.

Prof. Luo said her first trip before embarking on campaigns would be to travel to Northern Province to thank Paramount Chief Chitimukulu for supporting her and ask for his blessings.

Speaking earlier, PF Secretary General Davies Mwila, who welcomed and commended President Lungu for appointing Prof. Luo as his running mate, said it showed that he was a defender and promoter of women participation in governance.
