UPND IN SESHEKE FAILS TO SETTLE RENTALS

By ANDREW MUKOMA in Sesheke
THE UPND in Sesheke is allegedly failing to settle its rentals at the party secretariat.

The party has been paying K800 per month but for the last three months, it has not done so.

A source within the party said both the district and constituency leadership were to blame for that.

The source said that the party has been given three days by the landlord to look for the money else, it will be evicted.

“We have been given three days to pay monthly rentals of three months but when you look at this whole issue, the leadership is to blame. The owner of the place almost refused us to hold our party campaign launch at secretariat on nomination day.

“With the campaigns that have started, this is not a good sign because our opponents can capitalise on that and de-campaign us,” a source said.

The source charged that the current leadership was failing to coordinate party activities and wondered how it would perform during the elections.

Efforts to get a comment from the party leadership proved futile by press time and the premises where the secretariat was based was found locked.

The UPND has re-adopted Romeo Kangombe as its candidate for the parliamentary seat.
