‘MICHO’ NAMES 23 BULLETS FOR TERANGA LIONS HUNT

ZAMBIA bational team coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has named his final 23-member squad which has left for Senegal ahead of Saturday’s friendly match against the Teranga Lions.

“Micho” who had earlier named a 36-member provisional squad for the three friendly matches against Senegal, Benin and Sudan dropped Nkwazi goal keeper Charles Muntanga, Zesco United defender Adrian Chama and Kitwe United striker Edward Lungu.

Others missing in the 23-member squad include the Djurgardens duo of Emmanuel Banda and Edward Chilufya and Augustine Mulenga of Amazulu FC.

Maccabi Netanya’s Lameck Banda, Lubambo Musonda, Clatous Chama and Wisdom Mayela are not part of the team which has travelled to Senegal.

Meanwhile, young Cardiff City midfielder Ntazana Mayembe has made the cut after impressing since he joined the team on Sunday afternoon.

Mayembe is joined by Power Dynamos captain Benson Sakala, Red Arrows’ Paul Katema and Salulani Phiri from Polokwane City.

Klings Kangwa of Arsenal Tula in Russia, Kabwe Warriors’ Prince Mumba and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba from Zesco United will compete in midfield.

In goal, “Micho” has maintained Cyril Chibwe from Polokwane City, Kabwe Warriors Lameck Siame and Gregory Sanjase from Young Green Eagles as his best three shot stoppers

Defence has Tandi Mwape from TP Mazembe, the Buildcon duo of Golden Mafwenta and Isaac Shamujompa.

Kabwe Warriors’ Dominic Chanda, Gaboniso Magenge from Lusaka Dynamos and the Red Arrows duo of Benedict Chepeshi and Prosper Chiluya complete the defenders list.

Upfront, “Micho” will look to MTN Super League’s most deadluy duo of Moses Phiri and Rodgers Kola who are both coming from Zanaco and Brian Mwila from Buildcon.

Lusaka Dynamos’s Collins Sikombe, Amity Shamende from Green Eagles and Power Dynamos’ Spencer Sautu will compete in the striking department.

After the friendly against Senegal, Zambia will face Benin on June 8 before facing Sudan in Omdurman three days later.
