OVER 200 UPND MEMBERS TROOP TO PF

By PETER SICHALI

OVER 200 members of the UPND in Isoka have defected to the Patriotic Front.

Speaking on behalf of other defectors, Maxwell Sichamba said he decided to ditch his party because he does not want to be part of the bloodshed being perpetrated by the UPND.

Mr Sichamba said he and other defectors want to be part of President Edgar Lungu and the PF Government’s development agenda.

Mr Sichamba said the PF government is on the right track spearheading development.

He says PF had performed exceptionally well in terms of infrastructure development.

“We have seen what the PF is doing and therefore I do not see any need of remaining in opposition,” Mr Sichamba said.

He said the PF has carried out massive infrastructure development such as schools, universities, hospitals and roads among others.

And speaking when she received the defectors in Chiwanda Branch’s door to door meeting, PF Isoka constituency candidate Marjorie Nakaponda   re-affirmed their commitment to improve the welfare of citizens through good policies as enshrined in the party manifesto.

Ms Nakaponda so is also PF member of the central committee said once elected as MP she will ensure that all projects whose completion has delayed are completed.

She cited the ongoing construction of Michael Chilufya Sata Girl’s Secondary School and erection of street lights among others.
