PATRIOTIC Front (PF) Secretary General Davies Mwila has directed party leaders in Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces to increase foot soldiers in order to attract more members.
Mr Mwila said the party should get more than 60 percent of the total votes in the two provinces to retain power.
”The one who gets Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces will form government, it is important that as a party we maximise on the number of voters.
“The number of registered voters has increased and as a party we need to be committed to attracting more members to the party to get more than 60 percent of the total votes,” Mr Mwila said.
He said this yesterday when he addressed party members at the Kabwata constituency command centre.
And Kabwata constituency candidate Danny Yenga assured Mr Mwila of the party’s victory and pledged to work hard in the remaining two weeks.
Earlier, Mr Mwila addressed party members in Kanyama where he urged them to attract more members to the party.
Mr Mwila said constituency officials should not choose who to work with but embrace everyone.
”There is no new or old member when it comes to growing the party, we are equal and have to work together.
Politics is all about numbers and attracting more people to the party,” he said.

Lusaka Provincial youth chairman, Kennedy Kamba, urged constituency officials to grow the number of foot soldiers in all command centres from the current 10 to 30.
Mr Kamba said there was need for the party to attract more members to get 70 percent of the total votes.
”We need to get 70 percent of the 177,495 registered voters in Kanyama to guarantee the party’s victory, the need to increase the number of foot soldiers therefore cannot be over emphasized,” Mr Kamba said.
