KASHALA IS BACK

By MICHAEL MIYOBA

FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Adrian Kashala has resumed his duties after his “administrative leave” ended.

In a statement issued by FAZ communications manager Sydney Mungala, FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said the FAZ executive committee has been notified of Kashala’s return.

Kamanga hailed all football stakeholders for their patience during the absence of the general gecretary.

“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform its members and stakeholders that the administrative leave for the General Secretary Adrian Kashala has come to an end.

“The General Secretary who had proceeded on administrative leave resumes duties tomorrow,” Kamanga said. Kashala was sent on administrative leave following the confusion which saw the association docking three points from Young Green Eagles which were awarded to Nkana for the Kitwe outfit to survive relegation.

He was identified as the source of the confusion at FAZ for providing ruling to Nkana’s complaint on Young Green Eagles’ alleged use of an ineligible player, the suspension of Indeni Football Club coach Mwenya Chipepo and the suspension of Kashikishi Warriors for physically abusing match officials.

Meanwhile, Kamanga has disclosed that FAZ Vice President Justin Mumba shall represent the association during the upcoming CAF meeting in Morocco on July 17, 2021, that will coincide with the CAF Champions League final between Al Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs.
