The University of Zambia and the National Institute for Public Administration (NIPA) have closed their campus following a government directive for all institutions of higher learning to close in the wake of the increased Covid-19 infections and deaths. The closure is effective from July 1st, 2021 up to July 31st, 2021.

The University has since directed that all undergraduate, postgraduate and international students should vacate the two campuses. UNZA Acting Registrar, Rodgers Phiri said all undergraduate and postgraduate students would continue with 100 percent online learning. And NIPA has closed all its campuses and ordered students to vacate hostels.

“Following this directive, all students in residence are hereby advised to vacate the rooms by 18:00hrs Saturday 3rd July 2021. Examinations for Semester one 2021 will continue being conducted on line,” an internal memo read in part. Meanwhile, Ministry of Higher Education Permanent Secretary, Kayula Siame directed that all campuses be closed starting today until July 31, 2020 but that students could learn online from home.
