UNITED Party for National Development President-elect Hakainde Hichilema will govern the country based on principles of promoting peace and unity, Universal Peace Federation Zambia Chapter Deputy Secretary General Lawrence Banda has said.
Mr Banda said Mr. Hichilema is a member of UPF and hence there is no doubt that he will continue preaching peace and encourage the public to desist from violent acts if Zambia is to retain its status as a peaceful nation in the region and beyond.
He said that UPF, as a global movement pursuing lasting peace as the realisation of harmony, cooperation and prosperity hopes to see sustainable development by the new government which are also UPF’s objective.
UPF Zambia Chapter has since complimented the UPND and the Zambian people for exercising their democratic right during the just ended elections and congratulated the President-elect, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema for becoming the country’s eventh Republican gresident. “We wish Mr Hichilema good Governance grounded in spiritual and moral principles that highlight unselfish service, global vision, and cooperation between religious and government leaders.,” Mr Banda said.
