Girl admits stabbing friend under influence of alcohol

A 20-YEAR-OLD girl of Lusaka’s Chibolya compound has been dragged to court for unlawful wounding and stabbing of a friend using a knife.
Appearing in the Lusaka magistrate before magistrate Mbuwana Simvula was Juliet Kapya accused of unlawful wounding.
Particulars of the offence is that on August 16, 2021 Kapya did stab Lovemore Lungu,26, of the same area using a knife during a drinking spree without lawful authority.
Detective Costable Lungu took up the matter of the accused person and started the investigations. The accused person was later apprehended and charged. An officer warned and cautioned her and she voluntarily accepted the charge and said it was under the influence of alcohol.
Magistrate: Did you wound Lovemore?
Kapya: Yes I did
Magistrate: What did you use?
Kapya: I used a knife, I was drunk I never knew what I was doing
Magistrate: Was anyone forcing you to take alcohol?
Kapya: No one forced me
Kapya admitted the charge and said everything was true, and asked the court to have leniency on her.
