HH APPOINTS DINGANI BANDA AS ZRA COMMISSIONER GENERAL AS HE FIRES KINGSLEY CHANDA

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has fired Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda with immediate effect and replaced him with Dingani Banda.

According to a statement by State House chief analyst for press and public relations Cecilia Mulenga, President Hichilema relieved Mr Chanda of his duties and replaced him with Mr Banda in accordance with Section 19(3) of the Revenue Authority Act.

 “President Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect terminated the services of the Zambia Revenue Authority Commissioner General, Mr. Kingsley Chanda,” Ms Mulenga said. She said President Hichilema thanked Mr Chanda for the services he rendered to the nation and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Mr. Dingani Banda is a combined business strategist and information technology expert who had been leading the ZRA’s newly created Modernisation and Corporate Strategy Division. He has attained 22 years of experience in public and private sectors, having started his carrer with the international auditing and consultancy firm then known as Coopers & Lybrand (now operating as Grant Thornton in Zambia).

Mr Banda holds an MBA from Erasmus University’s Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) OF Netherlands, and also attended an MBA EXCHANGE PROGRAMME AT THE China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.

He also holds a BSc degree in Mathematics (with minor in commuter science) from the Universitry of Zambia, and a Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the Association of Chartered and Certified Accounts (ACCA) of the UK
