By SIMON MUNTEMBA
I AM happy being a Patriotic Front member and have no plan of rejoining UPND, says Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM), a member of the PF central committee.

In an interview, Mr Mwamba said those alleging that he was planning to rejoin UPND were just hallucinating.

He was reacting to an audio recording by UPND circulating on some media platforms accusing their party Secretary General Batuke Imenda of having secret meetings with him (GBM) with intentions of getting back into the party.
“I am a proud member of PF. I have no plan of rejoining UPND whatsoever and those alleging that I am planning to rejoin the ruling party are just hallucinating,” Mr Mwamba said.
Meanwhile, Mr Imenda has also refuted the allegations that he was having meetings Mr Mwamba to have him back in UPND.

“I have been made aware of an audio recording circulating on some media platforms accusing me of meeting the former UPND vice president GBM in dark corner meetings with intentions of him getting back into the UPND. That is a blatant lie and tantamount to cyber bullying and slander,” Mr Imenda said.

He warned those behind the unfounded allegations that next time he would take legal action against them.

“For those who would like to know, I have just arrived from Mongu where I was on a tour of duty. I do not even recall the last time I met or talked to GBM,” Mr Imenda said.
He said if Mr Bwalya had made any intentions of coming back to the UPND then he has not had that conversation with him.

Mr Imenda added, “I would like to further state that the Secretary General’s Office does not work in isolation but rather in consultation with other NMC members. Therefore, at the point when any person is received into the party, thorough consultation would have been made.”
