PF says it is set to submit to the Anti-corruption commission (ACC) evidence against some UPND officials allegedly offering huge sums of money to its candidates in areas where there are by-elections so that they can change camp.

PF member of the central Committee Raphael Nakacinda said they would give a report to the ACC with evidence involving UPND officials including some ministers that were offering huge sums of money to their candidates so that they go into hiding and stop campaigning for the PF.

Mr. Nakacinda said UPND had been pursuing their candidates for the Kaumbwe and Lusangazi by-election because they knew that they were strong on the ground.

He said their candidates had not only been receiving death threats but also calls from different UPND officials telling them that there was a certain amount of money waiting for them in Lusaka if they go into hiding and not to campaign on PF ticket.

Mr. Nakacinda said they would have all the evidence on record and give the investigative wings a chance to investigate.

Mr. Nakacinda said this when he featured on a diamond TV programme to discuss the role and relevance of the opposition.

He said it was fortunate that these people were even identifying themselves and they are the people they know very well including some of the newly appointed ministers.

“We have recordings to that effect,” he said.
Mr. Nakacinda said that he was very upset that someone had the audacity to call him saying that they had tried to convince those candidates and had failed so they hoped that he could help them to convince those people not to campaign on PF ticket then there would be a good package waiting for him.

He said these people said he should help them because they cannot lose as a ruling party just after forming government.

Mr. Nakacinda said UPND is playing propaganda to fight corruption in Lusaka and other places but they are actually corrupt to the core like never seen before.
