PF should prepare for 2026 now – Miles Sampa

THE Patriotic Front (PF) should prepare for 2026 elections now and not procrastinate because failure to do so would cost the party, says Miles Sampa.
Mr. Sampa, who is PF Matero Member of Parliament, said in an interview that the time to prepare for the next general elections was now because any delay could be damaging to the party.
He was reacting to calls by some PF members for the former ruling party to call for a convention to elect new leaders as waiting for 2026 would not give new office bearers enough time to acquaint with the general membership.
Mr Sampa also said 2026 was not as far as it seemed for the party to reorganiseitself in readiness for the elections hence the need to move quickly.
“The earlier we reorganise the better, if we delay we may end up like the Zambia “national football team” losing because we didn’t prepare on time,” he said.
And Mr. Sampa said the party has faith in the leadership of its vice President, MrGiven Lubinda, and would patiently wait for the postmortem report which was almost ready.
The party has embarked on a postmortem on what led to its shocking loss in the August 12 general elections.
Mr Lubinda, recently announced that the postmortem to be done soon would take the form of a candid review of all policies, occurrences, statements, and all commissions or omissions made by those in the Central Committee.
