FROM competing in the lower league to winning promotion and dominating the 2021/2022 Football Association of Zambia Premier Futsal League FAZ/PFL, is the story of Lusaka Avengers FC who are unbeaten and occupy second position on the league table.

Motivated by three consecutive wins over Zanaco, Chipata Boys and CSS Petauke FC, Avengers face their toughest test today when they host defending champions Automotive FC in a Week-4 fixture at Automotive Indoor Futsal Arena.

Today’s meeting will be the first between the two sides in a competitive much and Avengers’ coach Dickies Mwela is not worried about his team’s lack of experience.

Mwela says his charges are not scared of Automotive FC who have won the last three league titles with an unbeaten record.

Mwela says his boys are confident and looking forward to face the defending champions who dominate the FAZ/PFL with nine points.

“This is the first time we are playing in the FAZ/PFL. We are a promoted team and last season we were playing division one and we have never played Automotive before but we watch their games and they have played a number of games unbeaten despite knowing, that we are going there with full confidence.

“We are very confident and we are going there to compete. We have no fear because they have dominated the league over the years we have the confidence and we are going to compete,” Mwela said.

It will be interesting to see who will walk away with maximum three points to protect their unbeaten record.

Meanwhile, after failing to win any of their first three games, Livingstone Pirates will look for their first win when they take on Kitwe Bullets who are also looking to recover from two consecutive defeats.

Kabwe K-Line will also seek to protect their unbeaten run when they take on CSS Petauke who will be aiming to bounce back from last week’s 15-0 whipping by Automotive FC.

Siavonga Beetles are guaranteed maximum three points with a 6-0 walkover win over Zanaco Futsal Club.

In the FAZ/PFL National Division One league, Kafue Saints will host Mufana Mthunzi while Mtunzi will play Lilanda Bullets. Blue Bombers have a date with George FC.
