BOZ NEVER PRINTED MONEY FOR PF – CHAMA
By ADRIAN MWANZA
THE Bank of Zambia did not print any money for the Patriotic Front (PF) to use during the August 12 elections campaigns, deputy national chairperson Davies Chama has said.
Mr Chama said insinuations that the central bank printed money for PF campaigns were unfounded.
Mr Chama said there were too many innuendoes suggesting that the then BoZ governor, Mr Christopher Mvunga was giving money to the PF for campaigns which should be rubbished.
He said that was malicious and far from the truth because the party had not received any money from the central bank.
“People are just speculating that the PF received money from the central bank prior to the elections, something that is malicious and not true,’’ he said.
Mr Chama said people propagating these lies wanted to tarnish the image of the party and the former BoZ governor who performed his duties diligently.
Recent, Mr Mvunga was pressured by some media houses to reveal if the central bank printed huge amounts of money during election campaigns.
