Tembo eyes Kabwata seat

By ADRIAN MWANZA

I’M going to be on the ballot for the forthcoming Kabwata by-election due to the overwhelming calls by stakeholders, says Clement Tembo.

Mr Tembo, the former Presidential Empowerment Initiative Fund coordinator in the PF regime, said that he had given way to Mr Danny Yenga who lost to the late MP Levy Mkandawire and that now was his time.

He said this time around, he would contest the seat that fell vacant after the death of Mr Mkandawire who was involved in an accident outside his yard in Woodlands.

And Mr Yenga, the losing PF candidate said that it was too early to indicate whether he would contest the seat or not.

“It will be wrong for me to start talking about elections barely two days after burying the former MP who happened to be my close friend,” he said.

Meanwhile, losing Socialist Party candidate Mukubesa Mundia also said it was too early to talk about recontesting the seat because people were still in grief.
